Michael Jackson autopsy results to be withheld

Although the results of Michael Jackson's autopsy have been finalised, they will not be made public because of the ongoing inquest into his death.

The coroner's office is abiding by a request from LA police to keep the king of pop's cause and manner of death confidential.

Michael's post-mortem was carried out on June 26 - a day after the singer died - but cause of death was deferred pending the outcome of toxicology tests.

The ongoing investigation into his death has come to focus on the singer's alleged addiction to prescription medication.

Police last month carried out two searches on properties connected to Michael's doctor, Conrad Murray.

The physician, who was with Michael when he died, has not been named as a suspect in what police are investigating as a manslaughter case.
