Since getting together with model Gabriel Aubry in 2005, Halle Berry has been happier than ever before.

But the actress has some surprising news about her relationship - she has no plans to wed the Canadian hunk, and feels no guarantees that their love will be for life.

"Gabriel and I don’t look at our relationship in terms of for ever, we look at it as right here today," says the actress, who has a one year-old daughter, Nahla, with 32-year-old Gabriel.

"And today means being the best people we can be, the best parents we can be. It’s wonderful, but neither one of us feels the need to attach ourselves to each other for life - because it may not be that," the 42-year-old told the Mail On Sunday.

Twice-divorced Halle continued: "I once was stupid enough to say, in a previous relationship, 'I'm going to be with this person for ever,' and realised, as I grew, that I don’t know if for ever is possible. I'm much clearer about what a relationship is, which is why I will never marry again."

Halle was wed to baseball player David Justice from 1992 to 1997 and to musician Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005.
