A freshly baked theatrical treat

Run, run as fast as you can… all the way to the People’s Theatre, where one of the most beloved classic children’s story-time characters will be brought to life on stage in a vibrant and imaginative tale.

Gingerbread Man 2 takes place on the kitchen dresser where he meets Captain Salt, Miss Pepper, Herr Von Cuckoo and the Villainous Sleek the mouse, where he has fun filled adventure and along the way learns lessons which the young audience can relate to and learn from, too.

This engaging piece of theatre will have children buzzing not only because the show is colourful, imaginative and full of charm but also for the fact that it encourages audience participation - kids will become completely absorbed by this fantastical little story which offers witty dialogue entwined with catchy song and dance.

Meet vivacious characters the likes of Mrs. Pepper and Mr. Salt, grumpy Old Tea Bag, Herr Von Cuckoo, Sleek the Mouse and of course the amiable Gingerbread Man himself, in this wonderfully interactive and magical story which is written by internationally renowned and critically acclaimed children’s playwright Sir David Wood.

The Gingerbread Man 2 will not only provide full on entertainment for the whole family but will have children wanting more; it is as addictive as the sweetest, most delicious baked treat, only in this case the experience will have a positive lasting effect and won’t cause tooth decay.

Tickets are R99:00 for all shows and bookings can be made at the theatre.

There are tickets available for special school performances cost R50 per learner, plus one complimentary ticket for an educator per 20 learners. Extra educators are R50 each and accompanying parents are R70 each.
